Bananananananananananananana.

This week in Music, some instrumental rock:

Hey guys, how's it shaking down?

Oh, well then, I guess I'll just talk about myself for a while.

I see a lot of people that put their inner feelings on their blogs. I'm not going to bash that, but I don't necessarily think that a blog is the equivalent to a diary. To me, a blog is more of a periodical, where I can put my thoughts and goals down, and look back at them later. For other people, it may serve as a springboard for understanding what is currently driving me. However, putting personal information on a blog is something I can't see myself doing. It's just that the internet is a big place, and they don't really need to know how I FEEL. (It's a complacent mellow all the time, by the way.) So, if anyone was wondering, there, I said it.

There is a phenomenon that I would like to associate with my life. The cosmic coincidence theory. (Ooo... Doesn't that just sound badass?) I am going to have good luck whenever I slack, all day if I have good luck for the first part of the day. However, if the day starts off bad, OH DEAR GOD, I am going to be taking it up the pooper for the next 12 hours. Many people have expressed the belief that they can't even imagine what it would be like to try to live in this way. I don't know, it seems like it works out ok for me. >_>

I'm thinking about subdividing my blog into sections where I talk about different things. Whoops. I decided not to. It's just gonna be one long ramble-fest. Muhahah.

In case you guys are curious, this is a picture of the inside of a Dell. I just added labels for my friend who wanted to change out some of his equipment. (I advocated building a new rig, but he says he has way less chance of getting it stolen this way.)

So, I have always been adamantly trying to get more people to play this game that I am into, (http://www.Forumwarz.com) but no one even bothers to give it a try. I guarantee fun, and they SPIT IN MY FACE. It's like the internet has a conspiracy against me. Well, in any case, I have a lot of fun playing it, and the community is AWESOME, as I tell anyone who will listen. It's like they combined the funniest people in the world into one place. There can be no other explanation.

On the topic of games, just let me say that getting into the money league was actually pretty easy. I'm still playing for free, because I am loathe to give up cash while I scout out the competition, but it will be very easy to take the next step. I'm won the games that I played, although, admittedly, it was GHIII and not DotA. >_>

I watched Cloverfield finally. It was actually really decent. Curse you for lying to me again, INTERNETS!!! I'm really curious as to what exactly happened in the movie, in fact, I may start wiki-ing it as soon as I finish writing this paragraph. Yup. Too late.

Some people in my Composition class have requested that I post a link to my experience paper. If you want a copy, I suggest firing me off an email at lancen833@gmail.com Seriously, it may just be worth it. Then again, it may not be. Who knows?

I don't know exactly how much more I want to blog about right now. This doesn't seem very long, but it also isn't quite short. Geez...

What's About a Foot Long and Rhymes With Rock?

THIS WEEK IN MUSIC:
AIR

This week has been an exercise in patience. Patience and the ability to sleep with my eyes open. (Which I don't have.) To start off, I had the ACT, which I believe that I performed admirably in, and, indeed, may have bested my previous score with a possible 36. Immediately afterwards, I went to this chess tournament that my school was hosting and beat down some small children. Fun stuff. Fun like ice cream.

However, this week was not all sugarplums and sweaty hams. No, there were tense moments as well. I had to spend an inordinate amount of time getting ready for a presentation on
Monday in BIO. (Not as much as you, Sam! :( ) I also needed to practically pull an all-nighter to study for the test we had on Friday, which I feel extremely confident about. So, to counteract the massive amount of tired that I should be carry-over feeling, I have decided to go to bed really early tonight. With luck, the sheer amount of energy I have will allow me to TRANSCEND REALITY!!!

I watched Juno with Jenny on Friday. It was ok, I guess. It could have been a lot shorter, and maybe a little less weird at times, but I am just going to say that it got its point across: Being preggo is easy peasy and there are no negative ramifications. It will not impact your life at all. Also, fingernails are gross.

I got to play Brawl for a brief and shining moment. What do I think about it? Well, hmm... The items are really freaking annoying, especially the assist ones, because they mess with the way the gameplay works significantly. Instagib is never ok. Also, that fucking Pokemon who just sits out 30 feet above the stage and makes it so you can't see what's going on is really a bitch. Argghh. I hate him.

It looks like that Peach nerf that I talked about last time definitely hit harder than I thought it would. On the forums they were talking about how she stayed roughly the same in power, but her playstyle is totally different. Her turnips go nowhere, seem to have WAY less chance of a good pull, and her KO power is sub-par. In all honesty, I wasn't impressed. However, I was VERY happy with the way that Lucario turned out, and I may pick him as my new main in the future. He has a great aerial game, (Ala old Peach) and he is completely and totally dominant with his damage aura. Also, he has some great KOs and a bitchin' Final Smash. I am a major fan.

Inhouses haven't been going very well for me in DotA recently. It seems that everyone has switched to letting Nyxwulf (Doug) host, and for some inexplicable reason I lag to him. I have a great ping, but when I play it's laggy as all get out. Of course, they just tell me to stop whining and play, but I may need to find a solution soon, or risk jeopardizing my rank and scores.

On the Guitar Hero front, I finally picked up the controller again, (My new, wired one.) and played. It seems my problem was INDEED the faulty yellow button, as I beat a song that had vexed me eternally on the first try and then went on to play in several online matches where I completely stomped. I got someone to leave halfway though a song in rage. ^_^

I don't remember if I mentioned that I got an N64 Emu running on my compy, but it is pretty ballin'. I get a lot of good use out of it and I love playing through the old games. Oh wait. Yeah, I did, I mentioned it. ...Damn.

Hmm. I think that might be it for now. I leave you on a happy note. KITTIES AND LULZ!

(BTW, THE ANSWER IS ONE OF MY SOCKS. GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER.)

But no one READS blogs!

It's time for some EPIC MUSIC!

Let's define irony for a minute here. The grande old Dictionary.com defines it as:
1.the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend.
2.Literature.
a.a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly stated.
b.(esp. in contemporary writing) a manner of organizing a work so as to give full expression to contradictory or complementary impulses, attitudes, etc., esp. as a means of indicating detachment from a subject, theme, or emotion.
3.Socratic irony.
4.dramatic irony.
5.an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been, expected.
6.the incongruity of this.
7.an objectively sardonic style of speech or writing.
8.an objectively or humorously sardonic utterance, disposition, quality, etc.

Why am I talking about this? Because, although my blog is called Johnny Saturday's, I rarely update on Saturdays. Just an interesting little thing that I was musing about.

So, let's see here. Some news for you guys. Hmm... Well, as some of you may know, the 3rd quarter ended on Friday. That means that I have entered the final stretch, that holy place where all knowledge and pain reside. This is the point where my instructors will be going all out to put as much pain into my poor life as they can. That's ok, that's their job, no hard feelings.

I never quite talk about all the games that I play in this blog. I may allude to some DotA rounds, or perhaps a particular song in GHIII that happens to be kicking my ass, but I never truly express how much these things have an effect on my life. At this point, I'm seriously
considering doing JUST THAT. *What now face.* What now, punk? What NOW?!!?

Just to start things off, let's talk about DotA. Out of every game I play, it is probably the one that I have put the most time into and is the one that I am the best at. I'm not quite at the level of, say, Team Pandemic or MYM, but I am trying to work my way into money leagues. That's right. Soon, I hope to step myself up from Amateur to Semi-pro. Will my winnings be in the thousands like the guys above? No, but hey, it's just a game, right? I don't know how many of you out there have any idea what I'm talking about, but if you have a copy of Warcraft III and you wouldn't mind downloading the official DotA map from here, (http://getdota.com/) I'll show the replays from last night's clan inhouse.

Here is the first one. Pay no attention to my poor early game. Slow it down at around 37 minutes. http://www.dota-allstars.com/replay/36649/index.html And here's the second one. http://www.dota-allstars.com/replay/36650/index.html My name is Lancen833[herd] and I play on Lordaeron. (US West) Drop me a line.

I don't know about you guys, but I am SUPER PSYCHED to play SSBB. It looks like it is going to be every bit as good as the first two. Although, I hear that they nerfed my favorite character, Peach, quite a bit. -_- Somehow, come hell or high-water, I will end up playing this game. I have waited FAR TOO LONG.

While on the topic of Super Smash Brothers, I recently downloaded an emulator for the old school N64 games onto my computer. It's a little funky playing them with keyboard controls, but I play on buying a wired Xbox 360 controller, which I need anyways, and using that. Oh, and the nostalgia I'm getting from beating Ocarina of Time and Starfox again is priceless.

Enough about games though, huh? It's time to talk about the other things in life. Things like Jeeps. Yesterday we took the top off of Tucker's Jeep. It is soooooooooo much easier to get into now. However, it had the unintended consequence of being COMPLETELY AWESOME. I
hope it doesn't rain or anything, because that would suck for him. Like, REALLY SUCK. Heh.

Golf season started up last week, and I am looking fine. I have a decent swing all of the sudden. (Why?) I've even already won a bet with Ryan. (8 bucks I'll never get...) Hopefully all of my skill on the driving range carries over to the course and I can finally play a good round of golf. (And possible win another 20 bucks from Brandon) Who knows?

I think that might about just wrap things up for the chronicles of my life for this week. Until next time my classic bloggers, until next time.
