Hoisted By My Own Petard

This week it is time for some TRANCE.

These songs are some of the more recent episodes of a weekly radio show hosted by one of the best Trance artists in the world, Armin Van Buuren. His show is called A State of Trance, and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who has any interest in the genre. It is possibly one of the greatest musical finds out there.

But let's get down to brass tacks here. This past week has been... hectic to say the least. And the upcoming week looks to be even worse. On Saturday I had the double whammy of the SAT and then my Junior Prom. I was so tired that night, I wanted to crawl into my bed and DIE. On an interesting note, the teacher whose room we tested in had Natalie Dee posters all over the place. I know I'm not the only one on the internet aware of her, but it was neat to see it from a different perspective. I have AP tests this week and I fully intend to pass them. Even if it means sacrificing my eternal soul. >_> That's just about it for my periodical, so I'm going to dedicate the rest of the blog to Haikus that I wrote. Sorry for cheating you guys out of news!

storm out the window
thunder and lightning flashes
the ground starts to quake.

soft notes fill the air

the endless chorus of summer
true music of life.

swaying of the trees

driven by a playful breeze
reaching for the sun.

an old, dirt road lays
stretching over grassy hills
sighing, it slumbers.

beautiful blossoms

they were presented shyly
breathe in true love's smell.

a lone, white fence stands
framed against the setting sun
who will it keep out?

falling forever

but supported by the grass
a mind can wander.

basking in its dreams
a pond sits without ripples
till kids come to play.

a golden shimmer
the reflection of the moon
grants beauty tonight.

caught fast by branches
who hold me tight and tender
I fly forever.

fields waving slyly
heeding travelers closer
beckoning softly.

two thunderstruck youths
lovers caught by headlight's glare
soon to be parted.

dark and sultry brown
the chocolate safely sits
waiting for fingers.

leafy green and such
parts of a healthy salad
let's douse them in ranch.

pristine mirrored lake
dragonflies flit through the reeds
the hum of freedom.

a sleeping willow
dreaming of summer and spring
past winter's cold grip.

cricket-song filled air
one remembers by-gone days
a night serenade.

stars break though the night
splintered by tremulous tears
delicate snowflakes.

Man is most frightened
when all he hears is silence
he fears the unknown.

although gently formed
they shine with their own luster
light through pearls of dew.

her soft voice whispers
barely heard above my heart
pulled to where she lies.

wanting to belong
the book sidles to the front
pages to be read.

three heart-shaped petals
bowed beneath the great downpour
weeping silently.

fur standing on end
its eyes aglow with mischief
the cat starts to hunt.

words drift lazily
reaching into my daydream
clinging to substance.

I'm forever lost
no one will read my message
a bottle at sea.

turbulent gray waves
crashing over forlorn shores
a lighthouse keeps watch.

darkness enfolds earth
into her loving embrace
seductive and warm.

pots waiting for me
dully gleaming in the sun
it's time to polish.

flaxen blades of grass
stand limp in the summer heat
and thus the sky weeps.

a fortress of mine
constructed of gray pillows
impenetrable.

dawn quietly singing
the birds take flight and begin
a bright sonata.

a weathered red box
floral patterns on its sides
slowly turns to dust.

fiery-breasted
the mighty cardinal sits
lord of his domain.

waggling in the wind
the flowers put on a show
such benign dancing!

Awesome job on the Haikus! They are hard to create.

Good luck in your future plans, Nick.
